Open Source GIS and Tools

I'm amazed at the growing number of open source and freeware GIS programs and utilities that are becoming available. I've added several to our Free GIS page and will be adding more frequently.

GeoWeb 2008 Student Competition

GeoWeb says, "To advance the development of the GeoWeb, we are sponsoring a contest, which is open to all full time students attending an educational institution anywhere in the world. The objective of the contest is to materially advance the development of the GeoWeb." Deadline is May 15, 2008.

Census Tiger 2007 Shapefiles Download

The U.S. Census Bureau has just made life much easier. Now Tiger/Line files are available county by county for the entire U.S. in easy to use shapefile format. Visit MapCruzin.com for more info.

Alaska Natural Heritage Program.
