In a parting shot, the Bush administration ordered the EPA to radically increase the allowable amounts of nuclear radiation in our water, air and soil. The Obama administration suspended the action temporarily.

According to PEER, "The new draft standards have been promulgated in secrecy despite sharp controversy about allowing public exposure to radiation levels vastly higher than those EPA had previously deemed unacceptably dangerous."
