In 2002 I linked to, Smokestack Rollback, a report about the Bush administrations gutting of the Clean Air Act. I found recently that the report was no longer available. I've uploaded the report from the MapCruzin.com archives and have made it available to you once again.

Blog Revival
Hello - It's been awhile since I've posted to this blog. Especially in these difficult economic times, I want as many of you as possible to be able to take advantage of the free GIS maps and resources I have made available over the years. Blogging is new to me, but I think that it's the best way to get the word out to all of you. I'm sort of "old school" in that I've been doing MapCruzin.com for over a decade, beginning when such things as blogs, podcasts... were way off into the future. Well, the future is here so please be patient as I "ramp up" into the 21st century. I plan now to post to the blog every couple of days at least.
Since my last entry I've added many new things to MapCruzin.com including many new data sources, free GIS maps and shapefiles, more new free GIS programs and resources.
I also update the free GPS, TOPO and Climate Change Maps.
If you are new to GIS, be sure to check out the "What is GIS?" page and the free Learn2Map Tutorial and Atlas.
Lastly, I'm adding all sorts of new map layers to the inventory of low-cost GIS shapefiles. Currently, the Indian & Federal Lands Shapefiles are available at a very reasonable price - many more to come.
Thanks so much for visiting. Visit this blog and MapCruzin.com often for free GIS maps and resources.

Climate Change and Sea Level Rise Maps
Added the following to our Climate Shift page: Climate Change and Sea Level - Shoreline geomorphology, erosion, deposition, and subsidence, tide range and wave height, engineered structures such as jetties and seawalls, and elevation above sea level are some of the many factors that determine the degree to which a coastal area is susceptible to sea level rise. Of these, elevation data are available for any location of the globe and are very effective in depicting and communicating to the public areas that may be susceptible to sea level rise.

I'm beginning to post the answers to questions I get at MapCruzin.com. I hope they're of help and interest to you. Here's the first:
Hello - For polar bear habitat shapefiles, go here:
looks like you can request polar bear distribution shapefiles from the
Alaska Natural Heritage Program.
For general shapefiles (tiger data) of alaska go to our
Census 2007 Tiger/Line shapefile download page.
Good luck
